Chitwan, June 11: The construction of four new bridges along the Mugling-Malekhu road section was almost completed by planning to bring the bridges into operation for traffic by the end of this fiscal year.
Information Officer of Nagdhunga-Mugling Road Project (West Section Office) Sachendra Mishra said that the bridges over Khaharekhola, Chiraudikhola, Gomatikhola and Hugdikhola would be run for traffic by the second week of July.
According to him, road access to bridges, plaster works, traffic safety and some other jobs are left to complete, adding that the entire other works were over.
"More than 90 percent of the jobs are over. We are preparing to operate the bridges by mid-July," he stated.
Likewise, he mentioned that blacktop-related works for the road and bridges along the road section were slightly affected due to a lack of bitumen.
He added that the construction company has promised to expedite the construction works including the road blacktop as the supply of the bitumen is ensured within one or two days. However, construction of the drains, railing and others except the blacktop remained uninterrupted. So far, 43 percent of the road project has progressed, Adhikari shared. (RSS)
