By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May 14: The House of Representatives (HoR) meeting that was adjourned on Wednesday is scheduled for 11 am on Thursday.
Prime Minister Balendra Shah is scheduled to furnish replies to the questions raised on the government policies and programmes in tomorrow's meeting.
Wednesday’s meeting was adjourned after lawmakers from the main opposition party, Nepali Congress, obstructed it.
Speaking with The Rising Nepal, Ek Ram Giri, spokesperson at the Parliament Secretariat, informed that the meeting held on Wednesday was adjourned after the obstruction by opposition parties.
After the obstruction continued for the third time on Wednesday, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal adjourned the meeting until Thursday.
The opposition lawmakers had obstructed the meeting by maintaining their previous stance.
Speaker Aryal informed the meeting that Prime Minister Shah would be present in the meeting tomorrow and would also express his views.
As the session began on Wednesday, lawmakers from the Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), Shram Sanskriti Party, and RPP protested together, demanding the presence of Prime Minister Balendra Shah.
Earlier, the session was adjourned only for 15 minutes. However, after the continuous adjournment, the session was adjourned.
While the Wednesday’s session was scheduled to present the policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2026/027 by the Prime Minister Balendra Shah.
The opposition parties started the obstruction as soon as the Speaker informed them that the Prime Minister had designated Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle to submit the proposal to the Finance Minister.
The parliament meeting began immediately after Speaker DP Aryal discussed the issue with the chief whips of the opposition parties.
As per the discussion, Finance Minister Wagle submitted a proposal for discussion on the policies and programmes. But the main opposition party rose from its seats again and continued its protest.
Congress parliamentary party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe demanded a ruling to oblige the Prime Minister to come to the House to answer the queries of lawmakers.
Harka Sampang, president of the Shram Sanskriti Party, boycotted the session, stating that his party was not present in Wednesday's session.
