Kathmandu, May 5: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has asked all district administration offices across the country to shut vehicular movement in the time of disasters and ensure the safety and security of passengers and vehicles.
The Authority has also directed the district administration offices to book the drivers and owners of the vehicles if the notice issued to halt the traffic was violated.
The Authority's advisory has come following the flood and rescue of 89 passengers from Roshi river in Kavre district on Monday evening.
The Authority stated that serious concerns were raised regarding the safety of passengers due to the carelessness of some drivers.
Furthermore, the Authority has urged one and all to abide by the notice and warning to be issued by the Authority on the basis of the weather forecast of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.(RSS)
