By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Apr. 20: The Paleti is set to feature Darjeeling-based singer Pawan Gole this time.
The event is held on the last Friday and Saturday of each English month. Gole had also performed at Paleti 14 years ago.
This time, singer Gole will present both his old and new songs. The new songs include compositions by musician Ramesh Gurung.
Gole is a familiar name among Nepali-speaking audiences in the Nepali music scene.
His song ‘Hawa Sanga Bagu Bhanchha, Paat Sanga Bolu Bhanchha’ is among his most popular works. He has long been active in the musical scene of Darjeeling.
Recognised in the Nepali music industry through the song ‘Hawa Sanga Bagu Bhanchha’, composed by Subarna Limbu, Gole has sung countless songs.
However, his music has not reached as wide a Nepali audience as it deserves. Realising this, Paleti has invited him again to Kathmandu.
This time, Gole will perform new compositions by Subarna Limbu, as well as songs composed by Paras Gajmer, Basanta Chhetri, Pradeep Chhetri and Ramesh Gurung.
The lyricists featured in Gole’s Paleti performance include Shivshankar Thapa, Naraden Rumba, Jitendra Bardewa, Jas Yonjan Pyasi, Puran Giri, Suren Thing, Sanjay Bantawa, Sanjay Bista, Kalusingh Ranpaheli, Pramod Snehi and Arun Tiwari.
Pawan Gole had previously performed at Paleti in 2012, where he sang songs composed by various musicians. This time, the programme will feature a mix of old and new songs, with Ramesh Gurung contributing to the new compositions.
The Paleti programme will be held on the last Friday and Saturday of April, on the 24th and 25th.
