Kathmandu, April 17: Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Sashmit Pokharel, has urged journalists for their constant awareness and collaboration on the issue of educational reform.
During a meeting with a delegation of Education Journalists' Group at his office in Singha Durbar on Friday, Minister Pokharel requested for their appropriate suggestions and support as the government had started positive initiatives for educational reforms by resolving problems facing this sector.
"Journalists writing in education beat should continuously bring to light both positive and negative issues. The journalists can alert government so that it would always tread on a right path," he reminded. The Education Minister expressed commitment to review and implement 'Communication Strategy for Education, 2065' after carrying out necessary study and implement it.
On the occasion, Group Chairperson Nirjala Kakshyapati, handed over a memorandum to Minister Pokharel. The memorandum put forth various demands, including investment increase in education, implementation of communication strategy for education, and of the remaining issues relating to high-level National Education Commission, 2076, among others.
Former Chairpersons of the Group, Prakash Silal, Sudarshan Sigdel, Tula Adhikari were also present on the occasion.(RSS)
