90 percent hotels in Pokhara packed on New Year

Gandaki, April 14: Over 90 percent of hotels in the Lakeside area of Pokhara have remained packed as people throng the city to celebrate the Nepali New Year.

Hotel Association Pokhara Chair, Laxman Subedi, said that tourists from various parts of the country have arrived in Pokhara on the occasion of the New Year.     

Likewise, the Association has organized the Fewa New Year Festival, contributing to the rise in tourist arrivals. This is the 21st edition of the festival, aimed at further promoting the tourism business in the region.     

Pokhara, enriched with natural beauty, cultural heritage, and adventure tourism, has been declared the ‘Tourism Capital,’ and efforts are continuously underway to further promote the city.     

There are a total of 1,200 hotels in Pokhara, with an accommodation capacity of 40,000 per day, according to Chair Subedi.(RSS)
