Kathmandu, March 23: A group of people, demanding justice to the women and girls facing violence, picketed the National Women Commission (NWC) at Bhadrakali, Kathmandu.

They chanted slogans like 'ensure rights to women', 'end violence against women', 'why NWC silent?', 'guarantee justice to Inisha BK and Reshmika Pariyar', 'protect women and girls' in the premises of NWC today.

The families and relatives of victims- BK and Pariyar- drew NWC's attention why their demands of investigation and justice to the victims were not heard for a long time. BK was raped and killed in Surkhet and Pariyar raped and killed in Khotang.

The victims' families and supporters arrived at NWC bearing placards from Maitighar Mandal, a public square where they had been staging protest. However, their demands were left unheard, they added.

Secretary of the Khotang Service Society, Nawaraj Roka, informed that they had expressed solidarity to the victims. The victims must be ensured justice by taking stringent action against the perpetrators, he added. (RSS)
