Civic Campaign for Fair Election applauds government's deliveries in election

Kathmandu, March 13: The Civic Campaign for Fair Election has congratulated the government on the successful completion of the House of Representatives (HoR) Elections-2026.     

A delegation comprising Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) Chair Bijay Raj Gautam, Human Rights Organisation of Nepal (HURON) President Indra Prasad Aryal, and others today visited Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal and congratulated the government for concluding the election in a peaceful, impartial, and systematic atmosphere.     

The Campaign also applauded the roles of the government and the Election Commission in making the election successful.     

On the occasion, the Home Minister thanked all the stakeholders concerned who contributed to making the election peaceful with enthusiastic participation.     

“Achieving a people’s mandate through democratic elections is the best practice from a constitutional and legal perspective,” the Home Minister said, adding that it would further support the effective implementation of the Constitution and help institutionalize civic rights.     

“The nationwide enthusiasm and active participation of voters in concluding the election in an impartial, free, and decent atmosphere is highly praiseworthy. Through the election, civic faith and unwavering dedication to democracy have been expressed.”     

The Campaign also commended the role of the Home Ministry in concluding the election in a very peaceful, decent, and fearless atmosphere despite various challenges, adding that it has further strengthened civic trust in democracy.     

“The government’s preparations and coordination related to policy, administrative, and security management for carrying out this sensitive national responsibility in an impartial, transparent, and trustworthy environment are commendable,” the Campaign stated in a letter of thanks extended to the government.     

It described periodic elections as a pillar of the democratic governance system.     

The Campaign also expressed confidence that the government’s active leadership and commitment to further promoting democratic norms and values, the rule of law, protection of human rights, and good governance will continue in the days to come.(RSS)
