LKGC global coordinator Shrestha chosen IPB member

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, March 12: Ram Kumar Shrestha, Global Coordinator of the Lumbini-Kapilvastu Global Campaign, has become member of the International Peace Bureau (IPB).

The Lumbini-Kapilvastu Global Campaign, established at the public level, has been working with the objective of dispelling the Buddha birthplace misconception all over the world, based on three major pillars: reinforcement of democracy and the world peace movement, and the protecting against human rights violations.

Issuing a press release on Thursday, newly appointed IPB member Shrestha said that he became member starting from March 5.

The International Peace Bureau (IPB) is a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1910. Over

the years, 14 of its officers have been recipients of the Nobel Peace Prize. From more

than 100 countries around the world more than 400 national and international institutions

and individuals affiliated with IPB and actively working to give meaning to the vision of a

World Without War, It is undoubtedly a matter of pride that I became a member of IPB

from 5th of March 2026 in the capacity Lumbini-Kapilvastu Global Campaign Global

Coordinator.

The Lumbini-Kapilvastu Global Campaign, established at the public level, has been

working with the objective of dispelling the Buddha birthplace misconception all over the

world, based on three major pillars: reinforcement of democracy and the world peace

movement, and the protecting against human rights violations. It has already achieved

numerous national and international milestones. Since there is a synergy between the

objectives of our global campaign and the IPB, the importance of working together in

harmony in the present world context is clear. Therefore, taking its membership as the

Global Coordinator of the campaign is relevant. Among its 19 national committees, the

Belgium National Committee has already taken its membership.

We will always stand together in reinforcing democracy and the world peace movement

and defending against human rights violations.
