Kathmandu, March 11: The Transparency International (TI) has stated that election to the House of Representatives held on March 5 had further enhanced public confidence in the democratic system.
Issuing a statement here today, TI's President Madan Krishna Sharma claimed that the recently held election had further strengthened democracy.
Noting that the election results had reflected the public's aspiration for change, good-governance and prosperity, Sharma expressed his confidence that the incoming government would deliver in the interest of public.
Congratulating all elected representatives from various political parties including the Rastriya Swatantra Party on the behalf of his organization, he wished them a successful tenure.
He underscored that the incoming government must work in accordance with the sentiments and aspirations of the younger generation.
He called on the incoming parliament and the federal government to fully respect the confidence expressed by the Nepali citizens through the election.
According to him, the incoming government should prioritize youth interests and pay attention to ending corruption, ensuring good-governance among others.
The Transparency International also expressed its confidence that the new government will fully remain commitments to the pledges made with the public during election campaign and deliver in such a way that general public could clearly experience good-governance.(RSS)
