ANFA's attention drawn towards footballers' lockout

Kathmandu, March 9: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has said that its serious attention has been drawn towards the padlocking of its central office at Satdobato, Lalitpur by disgruntled footballers. 

Issuing a press statement here today, the country's governing body of the football said that administrative business have been obstructed due to the lockout and called upon the concerned side to withdraw the lockout immediately. 

Footballers associated with the Nepal Football Players Association had padlocked the ANFA's office building last Sunday, putting forth various demands including payments for the sportspersons, prize money and players' welfare fund, among others. 

The ANFA said that efforts were underway to address the demands of the agitated players in line with the prevailing rules and procedures. 

The statement mentioned that allowances and service facilities that are provided to A Division club players when they participate in the national team are clearly specified. 

It also pledged to provide prize money and other pending payments to players gradually according to the rules. 

Cautioning that the lockout could negatively affect the football related activities, the ANFA appealed with the concerned parties to resolve the issue through a dialogue. (RSS)
