By Shiva Shankar Mishra, Bara, March 7: In the by-election for the House of Representatives from Bara Constituency-4, Rahbar Ansari of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has emerged victorious, securing 41,200 votes with a clear lead.
His closest rival, Krishna Kumar Shrestha (Kisan) of the
CPN-UML, received 11,639 votes, leaving a margin of 29,561 votes, according to
Election Officer Gambhir Ghimire.
Sanju Sah Kanu of the Janata Samajwadi Party (Nepal) came in
third with 7,593 votes.
Before the election, Ansari had left the CPN (UML) and
joined RSP. Participating in an election under his new party for the first
time, he achieved a resounding victory, strengthening his political presence in
the region.
Meanwhile, RSP has also shown strong performance in other Bara constituencies. The party has already won in Bara-3, while its candidates are leading in Bara-1 and Bara-2.
Election officials reported enthusiastic voter turnout, noting that the overall voting process was peaceful and well-organized. Analysts suggest that these results have further strengthened RSP’s political influence in Bara.
