Santosh Rajbanshi of RSP elected from Morang Constituency-4

Morang, March 7: Santosh Rajbanshi of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been elected as a Member of the House of Representatives from Morang Constituency-4.

According to the final vote count announced on Saturday morning following Thursday’s election, Rajbanshi secured 40,833 votes to win the seat, said Election Officer Ghanendra Adhikari.

As per the Election Office of Constituency-4, his closest rival Gururaj Ghimire, the General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, received 12,818 votes.

Similarly, Amanlal Modi of the Nepali Communist Party received 10,762 votes, while Jeevan Ghimire of the CPN-UML secured 6,933 votes.

In the constituency, there were 119,255 registered voters, of which 80,084 votes were cast. A total of 19 candidates, including those from various political parties and independent candidates, contested in the election.
