By Ashmita Pokharel, Dhadingbesi, March 6: The vote counting for the House of Representatives (HoR) election in Dhading Constituency- 1 has begun.
According to Chief Election Officer Ekaraj Adhikari, the ballot boxes from three polling stations in Galchhi Rural Municipality-5 have been opened and the initial vote count has been completed.
Among 2,712 registered voters at the three polling stations, 1,476 votes were cast. Out of these, 112 votes were invalid, while 1,364 votes were counted as valid, informed Chief Election Officer Adhikari.
As per the initial results, Ashika Tamang (candidate of Rastriya Swatantra Party) is leading with 554 votes.
Candidate of the CPN (UML) Rajendra Prasad Pandey has garnered 336 votes.
Bhumi Tripathi of CPN (UML) has secured 295 votes.
Candidate of Nepali Congress, Krishna Prasad Rijal, has secured 104 votes.
According to Adhikari, ballot boxes from other polling centers are currently being sorted, and further vote counting will begin soon.
“Vote counting started at around 4:30 AM today. We aim to complete the counting as quickly as possible and announce the final result by tomorrow,” Adhikari said.
Of the Dhading-1 constituency, 53 polling stations, where there are 152 polling centers. There are a total of 136,686 voters, and a total of 85,333 were cast in the election in Dhahding-1, which has six local levels.
