Kathmandu, March 6: The National Information Commission (NIC) has concluded that the voting under the House of Representatives (HoR) polls-2026, held on Thursday, was peaceful.
The NIC said that voting in urban areas was encouraging, while polling stations in rural areas saw lower voter turnout due to accessibility issues.
During its field observation in Kavrepalanchowk, the NIC reported that Janahit Secondary School at Khanalthok recorded a 60 percent voter turnout, while Ganesh Basic School in Bhaktapur witnessed a turnout of over 75 percent, according to a press statement.
The NIC teams conducted inspections at various polling stations in Bhaktapur, Kavrepalanchowk, Gulmi, Kaski, and Tanahu.
It also stated that both polling stations in Namobuddha Municipality, Kavrepalanchowk, were not easily accessible to voters. (RSS)
