26 per cent vote cast in Saptari

 By Binay Karn, Kalyanpur (Saptari), March 5: 26 per cent of the votes have been cast in Saptari District by 1:00 PM on Thursday.

 According to the Office of the Chief Election Officer in Rajbiraj, the voting that began at 7:00 AM recorded a 26 percent voter turnout by 1:00 PM.

Chief Election Officer Kishor Ghimire said that 26 per cent of votes had been cast at 562 polling centers across 298 polling stations in the district, including 296 permanent and 2 temporary polling stations.

He said that voting has been peaceful across the district so far.

The district has four constituencies, with a total of 446,402 registered voters.
