Election preparations completed in all districts: Home Ministry

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, March 4: The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced that all preparations for the House of Representatives election being held for March 5 have been completed. 

The ministry stated this after holding a virtual meeting with the Chief District Officers (CDOs) of all 77 districts at 7 AM on Wednesday, confirming that election security and all administrative arrangements have been finalized.

The virtual meeting, chaired by Home Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha and attended by senior ministry officials along with the Chief District Officers of all 77 districts, reviewed the election preparations and security management in every district.

According to Ministry spokesperson Rama Acharya, the nearly three-hour meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs focused on election preparations, security arrangements, and related matters.

 She said that CDOs from all districts reported that all preparations for the election had been completed and that the security situation remains normal.

The meeting also discussed district-level election preparedness, the current situation, and the coordination required from the central government. 

The state of peace and security, precautions to be taken on election day, and security sensitivities were reviewed, and an understanding was reached to formulate future strategies.

Home Secretary Shrestha instructed the Chief District Officers to make election security strong and effective.

During the meeting, all Chief District Officers informed that personnel, security mechanisms, and election materials had already reached the polling stations.
