Birgunj (Parsa), March 4: The Parsa Police have arrested four persons including Manoj Kumar Chaudhary, a candidate for the House of Representatives Member election from Parsa electoral constituency no 2.
The joint inspection team of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force reported that they found a suspicious item inside a tin box tied with yellow tape in the back deck of the number Ba10 Cha 1250 while checking the vehicle which was coming from Harpur of Parsa towards Badnihar. Police said an investigation is underway in this connection.
The Chief of Parsa Police, Sudip Raj Pathak, said that all four individuals arrested with suspicious items are under investigation.
Those arrested include 46-year-old candidate Chaudhary, Sahab Alam Ansari from Prasauni Rural Municipality-4 in Bara, Suraj Karki from Dhanushadham Municipality-4 in Dhanusha, and Satya Narayan Tharu from Parsagadhi Municipality-3.
Similarly, based on a tip-off the Parsa Police stated that a joint team of integrated security personnel targeting the election has detained three individuals along with nine units of Improvised Explosive Devices (sutali bombs), one pig's head, and 10 metres of wiring in Inarwa village, Ward 16, Birgunj Metropolitan City. The arrests were made based on a tip-off.
Hari Bahadur Basnet, the information officer of Parsa Police, said that further investigation is underway against the arrestees on the charges of carrying explosives, offences against public peace, and election-related offences. (RSS)
