materials have reached every polling centre in Makawanpur district for the
House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5 .
The district includes 10 local levels and two House of
Representatives constituencies.
167 polling centres, comprising 62 in constituency 1 and 105 in constituency 2, and 374 polling stations, have been fixed.
Provincial Election Officer at the Provincial Election
Office, Bagmati Province, Hetauda, Hari Prasad Dhakal, said that temporary polling centres have been designated
at the District Administration Office, Makawanpur, and at Bhimphedi Prison.
According to Dhakal, polling officers and other election
staff assigned to the vote have already reached their respective polling
centres and have begun the required preparations.
“Preparations began on Monday by posting notices and
organising the necessary arrangements at the polling centres,” he said.
“He added, ‘’ Parties will hold an all-party meeting today
and arrange fencing and other structures required at the polling stations.”
They will complete the remaining preparations and arrange
fencing and other structures required at the polling stations.”
In addition, he said, “The schedule sets the all-party
meeting for Tuesday and the construction of polling centres for March 4. Voting
will take place on March 5.”
At the Jalpa Devi Secondary School polling centre in
Dumrekuna, of Makawanpurgadhi Rural Municipality-6 in Constituency-2, Polling
Officer Basant Raj Gautam stated officials carried out notice-posting and other
preparations on Tuesday.
Security personnel, polling officers, assistant polling
officers and other staff have reached their assigned polling centres with
ballot boxes, ballot papers, and swastika stamps with other required materials.
Ballot papers were
sent to some areas near the municipality on Tuesday.
Polling centres have been classified as highly sensitive,
sensitive and normal and have arranged security measures on that basis.
Security forces have been deployed to all polling centres.
The District Security
Committee stated they have decided to conduct the election in a peaceful and
fear-free environment.
A total of 2,244 personnel will be deployed in the election.
