By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb 25: Construction work on the Naubise–Nagdhunga road section in Dhading district has reached its final stage.

According to the project office, about 85 percent of the work has been completed so far.

According to the Chief of the Naubise–Nagdhunga Road Section Project, Keshav Prasad Ojha, the first package under the project included the construction of a 12.5-kilometer road and two bridges. Most of this work has already been completed.

The project now plans to complete the third layer of blacktopping and construct an overhead bridge at Khanikhola within the next 35 days.

After the final layer of blacktopping is completed, work related to road safety standards and painting will begin.

The project stated that the upcoming House of Representatives election on March 5 and the Holi festival prior to it may slightly affect the construction schedule.

Construction was previously delayed due to disputes over temporary sheds located at the overhead bridge site in Khanikhola.

However, the project claims that major works, including the construction of the overhead bridge, will be completed within 35 days.

The project office noted that road construction is closely linked to locals, and divisions within the community over certain issues have created obstacles during implementation.

Most locals required to relocate for the construction of the overhead bridge have already been moved, and the project expects work to gain momentum. S

Shahadev Khadka, Managing Director of Sagun Construction, also said that the election could cause some delay in construction activities.

Earlier, the presence of electricity poles along the road corridor had also affected construction work. The project, which began in 2022 (2079 BS), aims to be completed within three years.
