NA Vice Chair Ghimire extends best wishes on Gyalpo Lhosar

Kathmandu, Feb 18: Vice Chairperson of the National Assembly, Bimala Ghimire, has extended best wishes to all Nepali sisters and brothers living in the country and abroad on the occasion of Gyalpo Lhosar today.

She wished peace, prosperity and happiness, issuing a message. Festival is an effective medium to build unity, harmony and fraternity among Nepalis from diverse cultures. "Nepal is a multi-lingual, multi-religious and multi-cultural country. Diversity is our identity," she reminded, adding that the constitution has finely recognized such diversity. 

The Vice Chairperson further said the Gyalpo Lhosar is celebrated specially by the Sherpa community settled in the mountainous region of Nepal. Cleanliness of water sources and streets, and preparation of special cuisine made up of nine sorts of grains are special features of the festival, which is observed as a New Year.

Such festival help us foster unity and reconciliation in family and community, she added.  (RSS)
