Kalashree Awards presented

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 17: The Nepali Kalasahitya Dotcom Foundation presented the National Kalashree Honours and Awards–2082 at a ceremony held in the capital on Monday.

The Foundation conferred the ‘Amulya National Kalashree Honour’ on senior dramatist and lyricist Man Bahadur Mukhiya. 

Likewise, the ‘National Kalashree Award’ was presented to essayist, editor, and literary activist Shree Om Shrestha 'Rhodan'.

Similarly, the 'Sa-Siddhi National Kalashree Youth Award' was awarded to poet and translator Nimesh Nikhil; the 'Badri National Kalashree Journalism Award' to journalist and writer Rajesh Khanal; the 'Thirchhaya National Kalashree Fine Arts Award' to Mithila art practitioner and painter SC Suman; and the 'Padmanetra National Kalashree Music Award' to renowned folk singer and researcher Jhuma Limbu.

According to the Foundation, recipients of the National Kalashree Honour were presented with a certificate of recognition. The National Kalashree Award carries a copper plaque along with a cash prize of Rs.100,000. The Sa-Siddhi National Kalashree Youth Award includes Rs. 75,000; the Thirchhaya National Kalashree Fine Arts Award carries Rs. 60,000; and the remaining awards are accompanied by a copper plaque and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 each.

In the event chaired by the Foundation’s president, Momila Joshi, speakers highlighted the significant contributions made by the Nepali Kalasahitya Dotcom Foundation to the fields of Nepali literature, literacy, and the arts.
