India hands over additional 223 vehicles to Nepal

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 13: The government of India has handed over a further 223 vehicles to Nepal in the third phase of assistance for the upcoming House of Representatives elections slated for March 5, 2026.

At a programme held at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday, Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, symbolically presented the vehicles to Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal.

According to Ananda Kafle, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson for the Ministry, India had earlier provided 61 vehicles in the first phase and 254 vehicles in the second phase as part of its support.

The government of India has also supplied an additional 50 vehicles to the Nepali Army. Ambassador Srivastava handed over the vehicles to Chief of the Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel.

Spokesperson Kafle said that some of the materials to be provided to Nepal Police have already been received, while others are in the process of delivery.
