4 arrested for attacking Armed Police in Birgunj

By Our Correspondent,Parsa (Birgung), Feb. 11: The District Police Office has arrested four people who attacked the Armed Police Force personnel while raiding an illegal warehouse in Birgunj.

Three Armed Police personnel were injured and two Armed Police vehicles were vandalised in the attack by a local business group during a raid by the Birgunj Customs Office and the Armed Police Force on Monday.

Parsa Police Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Bahadur Basnet said that four people who attacked the Armed Police were arrested by Monday night. 

"Necessary investigation is underway after reviewing the CCTV footage of those who attacked the Armed Police," he said. "We will make the names of those involved in the attack public after completing necessary investigations."

The clash took place while a joint team was recovering clothes illegally stored in a warehouse at the house of Madan Prasad Gupta in Adarshanagar on suspicion smuggling goods. The Armed Police Force has recovered goods worth around Rs. 1.25 million from the spot.
