Lekhak Kriti Prize presented to Binodi

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 10: Lekhak Kriti Prize-2082 was conferred on Alankar Indreni, a poetry book by Govindaraj Binodi amid an event held in Pokhara. 

With the objective of honouring books by writers who are either born in Gandaki Province or actively engaged there through their works, the Lekhak Kriti Prize was established. The prize carries a purse of Rs. 25,000.

Similarly, poet Tara Pakhe was honoured with the Srashta Samman in recognition of her long-standing contribution to Nepali literature.

A selection committee comprising Dr. Laxmi Sharan Adhikari as coordinator, with Dr. Ganesh Sharma and Dr. Vishnu Prasad Sharma as members, along with the institution's chairperson and secretary as ex-officio members, had selected the book and creator for the honours. 

In the programme organised by Nepali Writers' Association, former president of the Nepali Writers' Association and noted poet Tirtha Shrestha felicitated both creators by presenting them certificates of honour and shawls. While congratulating the awardees, he spoke about their literary journeys and contributions.

Dr. Adhikari, coordinator of the award selection committee, shed light on the awarded book and its author Govindraj Binodi. Similarly, the institution’s vice-chairperson Kamal Paudel Athak welcomed the guests and shared his reflections on the personality and literary contribution of Tara Pakhe.

Noted novelist Sarubhakta extended congratulations and best wishes to the award recipients, while Dr. Ishwar Mani Adhikari, central vice-president of the Nepali Writers' Association, and Deepak Sameep, president of the Gandaki Province chapter, delivered goodwill messages. At the event, poet Taranath Parajuli recited poems from the awarded collection.

At the programme, Rita Adhikari Ritu, the president of the Nepali Writers' Association, and Association's secretary, Pranjal also spoke about the literary contributions of the honoured creators.
