Galyang Poetry Festival concludes

By Our Correspondent,Syangja, Feb. 10: The ‘Galyang Poetry Festival and Creators’ Honour Ceremony-2082’ has concluded in Syangja. 

The festival was organised by Jagatradevi Sahitya Sangam on the occasion of the 124th birth anniversary of the great dramatist of Nepali literature, Balkrishna Sama, and the 60th memorial day of Kavi Shiromani Lekhnath Paudyal.

At the programme held at Galyang Multiple Campus, senior litterateur Rishi Prasad Lamichhane (Gorkhe Sailo) was honoured with the ‘Jagatradevi Sahitya Award-2082’. 

Lamichhane is the founder of Pallav Sahitya Pratisthan, Bharatpur, Chitwan.

During the festival, literary works were presented by several writers and poets. 

At the programme, Chandika Prasad Bhattarai, President of Jagatradevi Sahitya Sangam, and Vice-President Lilaballav Aryal highlighted various works of Balkrishna Sama and Lekhnath Paudyal. Likewise, Treasurer Parbati Thapa and Secretary Dilliram Bhandari shared information about the poetry festival and Andhikhola literature.

During the poetry festival, campaigner Dr. Bishwo BK Khadka was honoured. Currently residing in the United States of America, Dr. Khadka had extended support in the management of the poetry festival.
