People’s confidence in NCP growing: Coordinator Prachanda

blog

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb 8: Coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has claimed that people’s confidence in the NCP has been growing steadily in the wake up to the election.

Leader Prachanda, also former Prime Minister, said so while interacting with journalists today at the NCP party office in Paris Danda.

On the occasion, he also said that the NCP has consistently been supporting the government initiative for the election slated for March 5.

He held that the NCP could emerge the first political force in election if all the members worked harder as people’s expectation and trust with the party has been steadily growing.

“The wave for the Ghanti party (Rastriya Swatantra Party) has slowed down in cities as well although there is some momentum for it in the Madhes. If NCP can check the wave and move forward, no force can stop us from becoming the largest political force in the election,” he said.

He said that geopolitical games were also being played out during the election. “We have got information that there are plans to highlight the Ghanti party leaders in the western media so as to influence the election here.”

Coordinator Prachanda viewed that the virtual (social media) reality and ground reality are different. “Hundreds of people are joining our party from other parties and we are having a new wave. People need to be made aware of the reality that we are the most progressive force in the country.”

He said that the NCP was the most unified party in the country, without any internal rift.

When the government announced the election following the Gen Z movement, we were the first to support it. Among the major political forces in the country, we were almost alone to support the poll then. Now, others have joined this although some are still hoping and maneuvering  for getting the dissolved parliament reinstated.”
