EC monitoring media contents: Acting CEC Bhandari

Bhaktapur, Feb 6: Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari has urged the media to publish and disseminate fair news without being biased while making news related to election to the House of Representatives. The HoR election is scheduled for March 5.

Talking to media persons at Janak Education Material Centre Limited, Sanothimi, he requested not to produce and disseminate news and opinion in a biased manner and one-sided.   

Acting Chief Election Commissioner Bhandari asked not to take side or oppose any candidate and party while disseminating opinion rather than news at a time when election environment has been created and it is approaching nearer, requesting journalists to disseminate news and content based on truth and fact. 

Sharing that the EC has forwarded investigation on the issues of violation of election code of conduct and action against those violating it, he opined that monitoring was underway from every corner about the implementation situation of election code of conduct.  

Bhandari underlined that the EC has been making election preparation in a speedy manner. (RSS)
