By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Feb. 6: The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a circular directing Assistant Chief District Officers (Assistant CDOs) of all 77 districts, appointed as Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Officers, to effectively carry out their responsibilities.
During the election period, the officers have been instructed to take necessary measures to prevent possible violations of the election code of conduct and to regularly submit reports on actions taken to the Ministry, according to Ministry’s Spokesperson and Joint Secretary Ananda Kafle.
The Election Commission had designated Assistant Chief District Officers in all 77 districts as Code of Conduct Monitoring Officers to ensure effective monitoring and implementation of the Election Code of Conduct, 2082, at the district level.
Meanwhile, the Ministry has also formed a central command post under the coordination of the Secretary to ensure that the upcoming House of Representatives election is conducted in a clean, fair, transparent and credible manner.
