Kathmandu, Feb 4: Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai informed that President Ramchandra Paudel's official visit to Japan has strengthened Nepal-Japan relations.
The four-day visit is expected to bolster bilateral relations and contribute to expand cooperation, Rai said during a press conference organized at VVIP Lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport to share information on President's visit to Japan.
President Paudel returned home from Japan on Wednesday. He had attended and addressed a special ceremony organized on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Nepal-Japan diplomatic ties in Tokyo.
During his stay in Japan, President Paudel paid a courtesy call on the Japanese Emperor, while the Japanese Prime Minister and the State Minister for Foreign Affairs paid courtesy calls on him separately.
During the meetings, issues of intimate relations, harmony and cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
The Head of the State urged Japanese businesspersons to invest in Nepal while addressing a programme of the businesspersons there.(RSS)
