By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 4: The Film Development Board (FDB) is set to organise a week-long horse riding training programme under its Skill Enhancement Year 2082 initiative.
According to a press release issued by the FDB, the programme is being organised with the objective of developing the skills of artists and technicians in the Nepali film sector. The training will begin on February 7.
A press statement by FDB mentioned that, as horse riding is increasingly being recognised as an essential skill in the production of historical, mythological, action, and adventure films, the training is being organised with the aim of making artists and stunt performers safe, disciplined, and professional.
Several well-known and experienced artists from the Nepali film industry will participate in the training. Throughout the training period, participants will receive instruction in practical exercises, safety standards, coordination with horses, and with the camera, and the basic skills required for action scenes.
The Chairperson of the Film Development Board, Dinesh DC, said, “In the context of the increasing number of historical, mythological, and action-based narratives in Nepali cinema, a skill like horse riding is no longer optional but is becoming mandatory.
This training has been initiated with the objective of making artists and stunt performers safe, disciplined, and professional. It will help enhance the quality of films as well as elevate Nepali cinema to the international level.”
The Film Development Board believes that this training will enhance the production quality, safety, and self-reliance of the Nepali film industry.
