GC bids farewell to two employees

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 2: Gorkhapatra Corporation (GC) Sunday bade farewell to its two employees amidst a function held at the office on Sunday. 

GC’s Chairman Gobinda Prasad Bhandari (Akhanda), General Manager Lal Bahadur Airi and departmental heads of the respective sections bade farewell to the employees. 

Krishna Prasad Bhandari, who joined the institution on April 26, 1998 as a permanent employee in the Technical Service, Nepali Proofreading Group Level-5, retired on January 28, 2026 upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 58. At the time of retirement, he was serving as Chief Proofreading Officer of the Nepali Proofreading Group Level-7 in the Journalism Service. Bhandari completed 27 years, nine months, and one day of service.

Similarly, Accounts Officer Brahmadev Mahato, who had been permanently appointed on April 11, 1994, retired on January 17, 2026 on age limit ground. 

Mahato had served as Accounts Officer in the Administration Service, Accounts Group Level-6, in the Revenue and Billing Branch, and later as head of the Registration and Dispatch Sub-branch under the General Administration Section.

During the occasion, Chairperson Bhandari said that retirement marked the beginning of a new phase in the lives of the employees. He wished that their next chapter be fulfilling and energetic, while emphasising that their support, cooperation, and goodwill towards the institution would continue even after retirement.

General Manager Airi said that the tireless dedication and contributions of employees like Bhandari and Mahato had helped GC reach its 125th year. He praised both retirees for demonstrating integrity and commitment, qualities he described as essential for every employee. Airi also stressed that one’s work defines their identity and that diligent individuals are respected wherever they go, extending his best wishes for their future endeavours.

Both Bhandari and Mahato reflected on the valuable lessons they had learned during their tenure and conveyed their best wishes for the ongoing success of the institution.
