List of NA election candidates published

Kathmandu, Jan 7: The Election Commission has published a list of candidates, who have filed their candidacies today for National Assembly election scheduled for January 25.

As per the list, 44  candidates of different parties filed their candidacies for the election going to be held for 19 posts, reads a press release issued by the EC Spokesperson, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai. 

Objections to the candidates can be filed on January 8, the final list of candidates will be published after investigation on January 9 and 10, withdrawal of candidacy on January 11 and final publication of candidates name list on January 12. 

Province Assembly members, chairperson and vice-chairperson of the rural municipalities, mayor and deputy-mayor are voters in the NA election. A total of 2,043 voters--- 545 PA members and 1,498 chairpersons, vice-chairperson, mayors and deputy-mayors will vote in the election. 

The voting weightage of a PA member is 53 followed by 19 of a local people's representatives.
