By Our Correspondent,Dhangadi, Dec. 31: The Sudurpaschim and Karnali Special Issue of Madhupark, a literary magazine published by the Gorkhapatra Corporation, has been launched in Dhangadhi.
Marking the occasion of Pushe Pandra, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Sudurpaschim, the Poush issue of Madhupark was released on Tuesday. The issue was unveiled during the Pushe Pandra special programme organised by the Sudurpaschim Literary Society, Dhangadhi, and the Deuda Academy, Dhangadhi.
The special issue was jointly launched by the Chief Guest Lal Bahadur Airi, General Manager of the Gorkhapatra Corporation, Special Guest Tribhuvan Chandra Wagle, Editor of Madhupark, Ram Lal Joshi, President of the Sudurpaschim Literary Society, literary figure Shrestha Priya Patthar, and others.
Speaking at the programme, General Manager Airi said that publishing an issue of Madhupark focused on Sudurpaschim and Karnali was an effort to practice federalism.
Airi added that by publishing this special issue, Madhupark, which carries Nepal’s literary legacy, has added another chapter to its illustrious history in the sky of Nepali literature.
He added that although Madhuparka has been published since 2025 BS, this is the first time it has been published with a geographical focus, and that beginning was made with Sudurpaschim and Karnali.
Editor Wagle said that just as the saying goes, “If justice is lost, go to Gorkha,” there should be a saying that “If culture and heritage are lost, come to Karnali and Sudurpaschim.”
Likewise, Sudurpaschim Literary Society President Joshi said that Madhuparka would make a significant contribution to elevating the vast culture and literature of the Sudurpaschim and Karnali regions.He also talked about the close emotional bond between Madhupark, Sudurpaschim Province, and the writers of the region. Literary figure Shrestha Priya Patthar said that Sudurpaschim has found a sense of belonging in Madhupark, adding that having one’s work published in the magazine is proof of its quality.
On the occasion of the Pushe Pandra special programme, many literary figures gathered. The programme also featured Deuda performances, village-themed storytelling, and poetry recitations.Meanwhile, General Manager Airi also met Sudurpashcim Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah.
During the meeting held at the Chief Minister's residence in Dhangadhi, CM Shah said democracy could be consolidated with the close cooperation between the media and the government.
