By Our Correspondent,Dadeldhura, Dec. 28: The Sudurpaschim Provincial Government has initiated the construction of 49 schools, 27 playgrounds, nine toilets, along with several skill training programmes, with an investment of more than Rs. 200 million for the current fiscal year.
All new projects will be implemented by the Ministry of Social Development of the provincial government.
According to Min Bahadur Lamichhane, Chief of the Social Development Office in Dadeldhura, a budget ranging from Rs. 1 million to Rs. 4.5 million per school has been allocated to school construction.
Under the Social Development Office, the highest allocation for the current fiscal year is Rs. 5.5 million for the construction of physical infrastructure as per the master plan of model schools.
Bhageshwor Secondary School in Parashuram Municipality and Bhuwaneshwori Secondary School in Ganyapdhura Rural Municipality have each received Rs. 5.5 million for the construction of physical infrastructure.
Similarly, Ganesh Secondary School, located in Ganyapdhura Rural Municipality, has received Rs. 4.5 million for its new building.
Chief Lamichhane informed that Tribeni Campus has received Rs. 3.5 million for the construction of a campus hostel and other infrastructure.
Likewise, Sahastralinga Secondary School received Rs. 3.4 million, while the Juvenile Centre located in Amargadhi Municipality received Rs. 3 million.
Meanwhile, playgrounds in Kailpal and Simalta, as well as a toilet at Saraswati School, have also received budgets from the Social Development Office.
Similarly, it has been informed that a budget of Rs. 2.5 million each has been allocated for the construction of school buildings and birthing centres under 24 schemes.
Asigram Primary School in Alital Rural Municipality, Bhuwaneshwori Secondary School, Kaipal Secondary School, Umamukteshwori School, Salashil School, Birbhadra School, Balkalyan School, Ganesh School, Chandrajyoti School, Debal School, Bhumiraj School, and Siddhanath School have also received budgets from the Social Development Office.Meanwhile, some other schools have received budgets for the construction of toilets, installation of water pipelines, and playgrounds.
Lamichhane further informed that the total capital allocation for the construction of 85 projects amounts to Rs 203.88 million.
