By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Dec. 26:The Russian House in Kathmandu, in collaboration with the Nepali Association of Alumni of Soviet and Russian Universities (Mitra Kunj), officially opened a photo exhibition titled ‘Reflection-2025 Russia Nepal Friendship’ on Wednesday.
The photo exhibition was organised to mark the conclusion of a year-long series of cultural, educational and humanitarian activities.
The exhibition reflects a year of deepening cooperation between Russia and Nepal.
In 2025 alone, the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in Nepal organised more than 100 events aimed at strengthening bilateral ties in culture, education and people-to-people relations.
Addressing the event, Charge d’Affaires of the Russian embassy here, Andrey Kiselenko, said that festivals, exhibitions and educational projects played an important role in strengthening friendship between the two peoples.
Russian House Director Anastasia Khokhlova said that 2025 proved a breakthrough year for humanitarian cooperation, noting that events marking the 80th anniversary of Victory and the 100th anniversary of people’s diplomacy were a meaningful contribution to deepening Russia-Nepal relations.
NRSC president Ganesh Shah said the ‘Reflection-2025’ exhibition represents tangible evidence of shared achievements. He noted that the number of students studying in Russia reached 7,500.
The ‘Reflection-2025 Russia-Nepal Friendship’ photo exhibition will remain open to the public until January 2026. More than 100 photos have been on display.
Meanwhile, Chargé d’Affaires Kiselenko has underscored the important role of the media in shaping an objective and balanced public perception of international processes.
Speaking at a gathering of media persons at a function organised by the Russian embassy, he said, "Russia consistently supports independent, professional and responsible journalism. Honest and balanced media coverage contributes to strengthening mutual understanding between the peoples of Russia and Nepal, creating a favourable environment for the development of bilateral ties."
