Bandipur (Tanahun), Dec. 24: On December 30, a grand Kaura dance will be performed to mark the end of Bandipur Tour 2025 and celebrate Tamu Lhosar. Under the tagline 'Our Lhosar, Our Kaura, Tanahun, the Origin of Kaura, Our Pride,’ the event aims to promote district-level cultural identity on both national and international stages while boosting tourism.

Bandipur Rural Municipality Chairperson Surendra Bahadur Thapa emphasised that this event, which celebrates both Bandipur's tourism and native culture, signifies a milestone of trust. He stated, “Along with Bandipur's natural scenery, we are showcasing our native culture to the world. As this event coincides with the end of the tourism year, we are prioritising the Kaura dance. This will help strengthen our cultural identity and support tourism promotion.”

Coordinator Baish Bahadur Gurung of Bandipur Tourism Year 2025 explained that a spectacular event will be held at Bandipur Tundikhel featuring many artists. He highlighted that the charming ‘Chutka (Kaura) Dance’ will be a major attraction. According to him, this celebration is an important cultural event that emphasises the Kaura dance as a key element of the festivities.

Event Coordinator Harisingh Gurung noted that the event is open to all. He mentioned that arrangements have been made to encourage participation from people of all castes and ethnicities, who are encouraged to join the dance wearing traditional attire. Participants are required to form groups of at least 25 members to collaborate, and these groups may also participate in the Kaura Dance Contest.

Participants and groups will receive proper facilities and training. To ensure quality performances, training sessions are scheduled at various locations.
