By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Dec. 23: Writer Sapana Acharya’s second book, ‘Unale Chhodeko Ujyaalo’, was released on Monday, marking the annual death anniversary of her mother.
The book was unveiled at a programme held in Butwal, with the release carried out by the author’s father, Krishna Lal Acharya.
The book was made public by serving meals to senior citizens residing at the Manavsewa Ashram in Butwal.
Earlier, Acharya’s first novel ‘Malilo Mato’ was published in 2021.
After a novel based on social reality and human sensitivity, Acharya has given literary form to more personal and introspective themes through the latest book.
The book is essentially a memoir based on grief, emptiness, and memory following the mother’s death. The work presents not only the author’s personal pain but also the relationship between mother and daughter, the deep impact of motherhood, and the eternal truth of life and death in an emotional yet restrained language.
Even though the mother is no longer physically present, the book centers on how the values, affection, and moral grounding she left behind continue to shine as a guiding light in her child’s life.
Presenting a mother’s memory not merely as past sorrow but as a source of strength and inspiration to move forward in life can be considered one of the book’s most notable aspects.
Releasing the book by serving meals to elderly parents at the Manavsewa Ashram symbolically aligns with the emotional foundation of the work itself.
The book is now available in the market, priced at Rs. 533.
