Shrestha comes up with 'Hajaraun Vijay'

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Dec. 22: Writer Ram Bindu Shrestha has come up with a new book titled 'Hajaraun Vijay'.

Former minister and former ambassador, Nilamber Acharya, along with others, released the book at a function in the capital recently.

The book published by the Nepal-Russia Literary Society is a short historical account of Soviet Russia's victory over Hitler-led Germany during the Second World War.

Former minister Acharya stated that the peaceful life we are enjoying today was the result of the Soviet Union's victory in the Second World War. "Had it not won the war, the world would still be suffering Nazi atrocities," he said.

Writer Shrestha presented a short note about the patriotic war led by Joseph Stalin-led Soviet Russia.

Chancellor of Nepalbhasa Academy, Malla K. Sundar, opined that Russia's victory over Hitler-led Germany liberated not only Russia but also Eastern European countries such as Poland, Czechoslovakia and others.

At the programme presided over by Amod Mani Dixit, former envoys Milan Raj Tuladhar, Jangab Chauhan, Attache of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Nepal, Nikita Vadimovich Mansurov,  Director of Russian House at Kathmandu, Anastasia Valentinovna, writer Khem Bandhu Koirala, Shakuntala Joshi, Bhabana Neupane and others expressed their reflections on the book.

The book is priced at Rs. 350.
