Prawasi Jiwan to be released on Feb. 27

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Dec. 11: Prawasi Jiwan, a new movie starring Rajesh Hamal, will be released across Nepal from February 27 next year.

 Directed jointly by Shyam Chhetri and Ram Adhikari, the film tells the story of Nepalis who travel to the United States in search of a brighter future and stability, and the struggles they face while living abroad.

One of the directors, Shyam Chhetri, said that the film focuses primarily on the joys, sorrows, ups and downs, and challenges of faced by migrant Nepalis.

He added that because the film is centered on mental health issues and their solutions, it will be helpful in understanding migrant life closely. 

Artistes including Hamal, Sarita Lamichhane, Buddhi Tamang, Mahadev Adhikari, Angela Basnet, Gagan Subedi, Lokesh Bhitrikoti, Divya Neupane, Abigel Luhar, Prasu Giri, Shikha Adhikari, along with director Chhetri himself have done the film.

The entire shooting was done in scenic locations across the United States. The film has been produced jointly by Shyam Chhetri Production and National Media Production.

Producer Rabin Acharya said that the strength of the subject matter attracted the actors to the film. He clarified that Rajesh Hamal’s involvement was also due to the film’s compelling theme.

Words like ‘Mental Health,’ ‘Anxiety,’ and ‘Therapy’ featured in the background of the poster of the film hint at the main theme of the film. The story, screenplay, and dialogue are all written by director Chhetri himself.

Its cinematography is directed by Amrit Bisuwal, while Ram Adhikari is its editor. 

Music for the film is composed by Nabin Karki, with vocals by singers like Pramod Kharel and Pratap Das.
