Lumbini, Dec 9: Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Chet Narayan Acharya, has pointed out the need of launching joint efforts to build a transparent and corruption-free society, which he argued, would contribute to good governance.
In a message given on the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day today, Chief Minister Acharya mentioned, "Corruption is not just an economic misconduct. It has a serious impact on social norms, values, democratic system, political stability and pace of development."
"The government has been taking various measures to reinforce legal, policy-level and institutional mechanisms, realizing the fact that corruption control is instrumental to establish a prosperous and accountable system," reads the message.
CM Acharya clarified that the Lumbini province government was fully committed to its role in the common fight against financial sleaze.
He shared that the five-year strategic plan is being implemented keeping the promotion of good governance and reduction of financial malaise in priority. (RSS)
