By Shashidhar Parajuli, Biratnagar, Dec 8: Police have arrested an Indian man at large from Biratnagar, who was convicted in a kidnapping and hostage case. He escaped Nakkhu Prison in Kathmandu during the Gen Z protest.
55-year-old Nipun Gupta absconded after Nakkhu Prison during the Gen Z protest that was held on September 8 and 9, according to the police team of the District Police Office, Morang.
The police had received information that Gupta, who had been on the run for a long time, was hiding in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-7, Morang.
According to the police, Nipun Gupta, son of Manorala Gupta, from India, escaped from Nakkhu Prison on September 8 and was arrested in Biratnagar three months later.
Based on the same information, the police arrested him on Sunday night.
Police said that the arrested person will be sent to Nakkhu Jail.
