Kathmandu, Dec 4: Cricketer Bhim Sarki of the Kathmandu Gorkhas has become the first Nepali cricketer to strike fastest half century in the second edition of the Nepal Premier League.     

Bhim scored half century with five fours and four sizes in 19 balls against Pokhara Avengers today. No Nepali batter has so far hit the half century in ongoing NPL in such a faster manner.     

It may be noted that foreign player Harmit Singh associated to Sudurpschim Royals had struck half century against Kathmandu in 19 balls.     

Bhim has equalized the Harmit's record today. Earlier, Jimi Nisham of Janakpur Bolts had set a record of striking half century in 18 balls in last season.     

With Bhim's half century, number of half century has reached 29 in this edition.     

So far 25 cricketers are included in the list of players striking half century in the season.     

Earlier, Ravi Bopara of Chitwan Rhinos had hit three half centuries while Kushal Bhurtel of Pokhara Avengers and Prinyank Panchal of Karnali Yaks made two centuries each in the season.     

Binod Bhandari, Josh Brown, Harmit Singh and Ishan Pandey of Suhdurpaschim Royals; Lokesh Bam, Martin Guptil and Basir Ahmad of Biratnagar Kings; Sumit Bagale, Jimi Nisham, Adam Rossington of Pokhara; David Malam and Arjun Saud of Chitwan, John Simpson and Ben Chalresworthof Kathmandu Gorkhasl Mark Watt of Karnali, D'Arcy Short of Lumbini, Bayan Parnel, Sanjaya Krishnamurty, Maaz Sadaqat, Anil Shah and Aasif Sheikh made one each single century in the season.     

Only two batsmen, Mark Watt of Karnali and Adam Rossington of Pokhara, had so far hit century in the ongoing tournament. (RSS)
