Damauli (Tanahun), Dec 3: The repair of the road, which was submerged near Durga Temple of Byas Municipality-3, Tanahun, along the Mugling- Pokhara road section of Prithivi Highway, has started after four months.
The two-lane road was made into a four-lane road by constructing a temporary structure. Out of the four, two temporary lanes had cracked due to traffic pressure and collapsed in the last week of July.
Bishnu Prasad Pandey, engineer of the Mugling- Pokhara Road Project (Eastern Section), said that the repair of the collapsed road section has started from today.
According to him, after about 100 meters of the road was collapsed, traffic in the area has been closed and the road has been opened to one-way traffic.
He said that repairs have begun by removing blacktop from the damaged area.
The 41.5-kilometer section of the eastern section of the Muglin-Pokhara road from Anbu Khaireni–Jamune has been blacktopped in four lanes.
The contract for the eastern section was signed on December 2, 2020 and work began on April 15, 2021. China Communication Construction has been awarded the contract for the eastern section
The road was made four-lane with the help of a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) after surging traffic volume on the road, which was demarcated in 1969 (2026 BS.
