By Kaviraj Ghimire, Hile, Dec 3: The tradition of threshing by using oxen has been disappearing in Dhankuta recently. As technology has entered agriculture, the tradition of threshing using oxen has also started to disappear.
Due to the trend of youth emigration and urbanization, people have stopped living in villages, due to traditional farming is also declining. However, in Ghame, Pakhribas Municipality-8, Dhankuta, locals are still preserving this tradition.
Local Devi Bahadur Puri showed great enthusiasm for threshing using oxen.
She said that despite the shortage of manpower and oxen to do the work, the traditional way of threshing was retained in the village.
Local Poojan Puri said that the atmosphere was very enjoyable due to the locals who gathered to watch and enjoy this traditional threshing, which has been disappearing in recent times.
