Janakpur marks its first win in NPL

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec 2: Jankapur has marked its first win in today's first match under the Second Edition of Nepal Premier League (NPL), currently underway at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, in the federal capital. Jankapur Bolts won against Chitwan Rhinos by six wickets. It is the fifth game of Jankapur this season, while it's the first victory. 

The possibility of Janakpur remaining in the knock-off remains after getting two points on the scoreboard.

Chitwan stands with four points in the scoreboard. 

Janakpur Bolts received a victory target of 177 runs from Chitwan Rhinos, which they reached in just 17.3 overs, in the loss of four wickets. Janakpur made 180 runs in 17.3 overs. 

For Janakpur, Maaz Sadaqat made 63 runs in 30 balls, six fours and four sixes. Anil Sah scored 61 scores in 36 balls,  making four fours and three sixes. Meanwhile, Aasif Sheikh made 18 runs, Aaditya Mahata made 18 runs and Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton added 11 runs.

In bowling, Sohail Tanvir, Kamal Airee and Amar Routela took a wicket each. 

Earlier, Chitwan, who had won the toss and elected to bat first, scored 176 runs for the loss of four wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

For Chitwan, Openers David Malan and Arjun Sawad contributed 80 runs and 52 runs, respectively. The two batters also contributed 112 runs in partnership.   

In bowling, Anil Shah, Rupesh Singh, Maz Sadakat and Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton took one wicket each.
