Paleti dedicates musical evening to Phatteman

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Nov. 29: Paleti, a musical evening, is dedicated to the iconic late singer Phatteman Rajbhandari in its latest edition.

 Nepalaya has been hosting Paleti on the last Friday of every month and coincidentally, Friday, November 28, was singer Phatteman’s birth anniversary. 

Paleti coordinator and composer Aabhas said, “We spent many years working closely with singer Phatteman. We have many memories attached to him. They need to be preserved and cherished from time to time,” as mentioned in the press release issued by Nepalaya.

Nepalaya’s association with Phatteman dates back to 2002. On August 10, 2002, Nepalaya organised ‘Singer Phatteman Sanjh’ at the present Parliament building. It was the first solo musical programme of Phatteman’s life, with music arranged by composer Aabhas himself.

Paleti, a short-format musical series, has been running since 2005, where Phatteman performed solo on three different occasions.

More than a dozen songs sung by Phatteman will be presented at the event, which the Paleti team has been rehearsing for weeks. 

The Palenti programme, which started on Friday, will also be held on Saturday at Nepalaya's r-sala in Kalikasthan
