EC denies unauthorised access to voters’ roll

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Nov. 19: The Election Commission (EC) has clarified that no one has unauthorised access to the voter roll records and that the data cannot be misused.

Issuing a statement, the Commission stated that its website and information systems are secure, assuring that there are no issues regarding the protection of confidential information. 

The Commission reiterated its commitment to safeguarding all sensitive personal data that must be kept confidential under the law. According to the EC, no voter-related information has been accessed by any unauthorised individual. 

It further stressed that it is fully dedicated to ensuring the complete security of citizens’ confidential details.

Regarding PDF files circulating on social media, the Commission explained that those documents were previously provided to district election offices and political parties for election-related purposes and were not leaked from its information system.
