Hari Hajurba staged in Bardiya

By Our Correspondent,Bardiya, Nov. 15: The popular play 'Hari Hajurba’, based on the story of the armed conflict, has been staged outside Kathmandu for the first time.

Director Nijar Husen and actor Bijay Baral, along with their team, travelled to Bardiya and successfully staged the play.

The play, staged on Friday at Radhakrishna Chowk in Gulariya, was watched by nearly five hundred audience.

The play portrays the pain and struggles of families whose loved ones had disappeared during the armed conflict.

 According to director Husen, the story is based on his own experiences. He said that meeting the victim's families and understanding their suffering was another important achievement of the production.

Actor Baral said that the play depicts the story of how a grandfather misses and awaits his disappeared granddaughter.

The play seeks to heighten the audience's empathy and understanding of families impacted by armed conflict.

 During their visit, the drama team also held an interaction session with civil society members and victim families in Bardiya. Kabita Oli, whose daughter had disappeared, said that the play has inspired victim families to write their own stories.

According to the schedule, the play will be performed on Saturday at Manpur Secondary School in Rajapur Municipality-6, Bardiya. 

Although it was planned for Thursday, the show was postponed to Friday due to technical issues.

‘Hari Hajurba’ stands among the highest-earning plays at Mandala Theatre. 

The performance features acting by Sabina Thapa, Rohit Shah, Sujana Pandey, Manishraj Pandey, and Risu Raut. 

The fact that director Husen and Baral, who have long been working in films, travelled to the district to stage the play has generated excitement among the audience.
