blog

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Nov. 12: The popular musical band, Kandara, is all set to perform in Kathmandu on November 14. It will be their second performance in Kathmandu.

The band announced at a press meet on Monday that it would hold ‘Kathmandu Calling Kandara’ celebrating its 32nd anniversary.

The event is being organised by Vishishta International in collaboration with XO Club and High Entertainment.

Speaking at the conference, the band’s lead vocalist Bivek Shrestha said that the concert will be held under the theme ‘Rhythm of Change,’ which represents the country’s cultural, economic, and social transformation.

“The nation is on the verge of change. Through music, we want to contribute to this transformation,” said Shrestha.

“This concert is our voice. The upcoming event at XO will be the first concert under our new theme.”

He added that performing in a club is not just for entertainment but also a way to connect with the youth, saying, “A club is not merely a place to dance and sing it is what the young generation demands today.”

The band previously performed its first concert in Kathmandu last year at LOD in Thamel.

Shrestha said, “We want to link ‘Rhythm of Change’ with social and economic transformation. Change also applies to music. We often recognise the frontmen but tend to forget those who work behind the scenes.”

He further added that the band will be touring Nepal for one month before heading abroad to perform in various countries, including the United States, Canada, Europe, and several Asian nations, as part of the ‘Rhythm of Change’ tour.

During the XO Club concert, Kandara will perform its hit songs along with messages that reflect the ‘Rhythm of Change’ theme, as mentioned in the programme.
